Britt Glauz, BSDH, RDH, graduated from dental hygiene school in California in 2020 and immediately began searching for inspiration from dental hygienists on social media. Unfortunately, she didn’t find the inspiration she was looking for, so she decided to create a platform to help others, who—like her—felt they could benefit from having a mentor or someone to look up to. Her platforms gained traction, and Britt fell in love with helping the dental community.
Three years later, she has multiple successful social media platforms, hosts a podcast, and has been featured in articles and on websites. “I pictured being able to help a few students here and there, but that has since turned into helping thousands," she says. "I never imagined my career would be where it is today so early on. I can only hope to continue creating and inspiring others.”
Britt advocates for empowering hygienists to advance their careers by using their voices and by providing quality care to patients. “My platforms are built to inspire and motivate hygiene students, new grads, and experienced hygienists. In addition to that, I create content that helps patients understand the importance of oral health and helps them identify the link between oral and systemic health,” she says.
As Britt focuses on continuing to create on her platforms, she’s also building an in-person presence. Her future goals include becoming an impactful speaker, author, key opinion leader, and clinical instructor. Another goal is to be at the forefront of interprofessional collaboration through medical-dental integration.
Helping others is what fuels Britt in her journey. “It’s important for me to represent hygienists in a professional manner that will continue to elevate our profession,” she says.
Britt currently works four days a week in a general practice. When she’s not in the office or working on her social media presence, she enjoys traveling, watching reality TV, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
