- Made of recycled plastics, Preserve toothbrushes encourage users to recycle replaced toothbrushes. The toothbrushes can be returned in a postage-paid mailer to Recycline, the manufacturer, after it has been replaced.

- The company reports that Preserve`s polypropylene handle and nylon bristles "combine to make an extremely effective feed material for recyled plastic lumber products."

- The company notes that, at replacement rates of twice a year, toothbrushes represent more than 100 million pounds of plastic waste in the United States.
