Janessa Bock, RDH
Janessa started her hygiene journey at Amarillo College Dental Hygiene Program in Amarillo Texas in 2005. Here she found a love advocating for our amazing profession and has continued by leading through various state association positions. Today, she balances private practice with educating colleagues nationwide, specializing in photo biomodulation and diode laser certification through Advanced Dental Hygiene.
Melissa Calhoun, MSDH, RDH
Melissa is a dental hygienist, educator, and the current president of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene (AADH). She teaches at Tarrant County College in Texas and is dedicated to advancing the field of dental hygiene through her leadership, teaching, and professional expertise. With a strong background in education and a commitment to improving patient care, Melissa plays a key role in shaping the future of the dental hygiene profession.
Kristi Dalton, MS, RDH
With 21 years of clinical expertise, Kristi brings invaluable experience to her role as dental hygiene program director at Lone Star College. Her eight-year journey in dental hygiene education, coupled with service on TDHA's board as educator liaison, reflects her dedication to advancing the profession. She's currently spearheading the implementation of local anesthesia infiltration training, shaping the next generation of dental hygienists.
Rebecca Ficken, BSDH, RDH
A 30-year veteran of dental hygiene, Rebecca combines patient care with leadership to advance the profession in Texas and beyond. Through local initiatives, state-level engagement, and international outreach, her focus remains on preventive education and mentoring future dental professionals while pushing the boundaries of dental care. Rebecca remains committed to mentoring the next generation of dental professionals to embrace lifelong learning and keep pushing boundaries as they continue to advance our profession.
Shawna Greer, BSDH, RDH
As president of TDHA, Shawna champions expanded scope of practice while mentoring future hygienists at Lone Star College Kingwood. With eight years of DSO experience and an active social media presence, she creates transparent conversations about the profession through product reviews and real-world discussions. Her involvement with TDHA and ADHA since her graduation reflects her commitment to advancing the field.
Harold A. Henson, PHD, MEd, RDH, FADHA
Distinguished Teaching Professor Harold Henson has shaped generations of dental hygienists during his 26-year teaching career, sharing both his knowledge and passion for the profession. His exceptional dedication to education earned him recognition from the UT system with its outstanding teaching award. Henson's enduring legacy lives on through his graduates, who have emerged as influential leaders in dental hygiene.
Jodie Hostetter, BSDH, RDH
A champion of public health dentistry, Jodie has made her mark across clinical care, education, and industry. After serving as a public health hygienist at DSHS and becoming Young Dental's first clinical representative in Central Texas, she now leads Miles of Smiles, a school-based program that has provided sealants to more than 100,000 San Antonio children. She shapes future dental professionals as an adjunct faculty member at UT Health School of Dentistry while maintaining leadership roles in both local and state dental hygiene associations.
Bethany Montoya, BAS, RDH
Bethany is a mentor and professional educator with a passion for progress in oral health care. In addition to her active role in clinical practice, she serves as an editorial director for DentistryIQ, is a longtime contributor and advisory board member for RDH magazine, and an industry consultant, speaker, and online influencer
Deanna Otts-Whitfield, MSHQS, BSDH, RDH, CDIPC
Deanna practiced clinically in private and public health settings for 15 years before she discovered her passion for consulting on regulatory compliance. The wide landscape of dental hygiene practice has allowed her to use her clinical skills to deliver pertinent and constructive information to dental offices. In the future, dental hygiene practice will likely integrate advanced technology and data analytics, allowing for more personalized patient care and improved preventive measures while maintaining a strong focus on regulatory compliance and best practices.
Pamela Randolph, MS, BS, RDH
Pamela is currently serving as president-elect of TDHA and is a territory manager of hygiene support for Aspen Dental. She is passionate about mentorship and advancing the role of oral health-care providers by developing an executive presence within the profession. Pamela is currently working on research and content development to present continuing education to fellow professionals.
