RDH Evolution is on its way, and many of you are curious about the concept and purpose of the event.
The program was developed for the RDH who is looking for a dose of enthusiasm, positivity, and direction to energize their career path. If you are looking for new opportunities or ideas to freshen your daily routine with patients, you will find answers from the wealth of knowledge provided at the podium. The speakers have a broad-based background and have walked in your shoes and carved new paths of success for themselves. Change doesn’t always require leaving clinical care, and the messaging provided during the two-day experience will leave you with a plan of what your next steps may look like and where to begin.
RDH Evolution will be hosted Friday and Saturday, April 16–17, with a meet and greet reception the evening of the 15th. The reception will be a great start for the program as you will have the chance to meet the corporate sponsors of the event. You will hear how they work with the dental hygiene community and how they depend upon the knowledge and the skill sets of the dental hygienist. Many of these companies look to the RDH to create content for articles or share your expertise at the podium, while some hire the hygienist for sales, marketing, or consulting positions. This will be an evening you will not want to miss.

Life-changing expert sessions
The two days of coursework will be life-changing. The program is filled with topics and key points of information ranging from roadblocks to action planning. Josalyn Sewell, RDH, will share content on turning obstacles into opportunities and how creating habits supports the transition. She has a career path that has provided her lessons of growth and success, which she will share. Jamie Freitag-Dooley, RDH, BS, founder of The Expansion Group, has been helping dental professionals expand their mindset beyond traditional roles for the past four years as a conscious creation coach. Jasmin Haley, MSDH, RDH, CDA, just published her first book, Breaking Through to Excellence, and she will lead you on a journey to discover your purpose. Sonya Dunbar, RDH, MHA, will explain how to combat the voices telling us “we can’t,” and how to turn those inner voices into becoming victorious. Melissa Turner, BASDH, RDHEP, EFDA, will provide several preprogram exercises so you have any early start for her program on understanding your strengths and helping you release your entrepreneurial spirit. Amber Auger, RDH, MPH, will focus on the steps you can take to thrive in the operatory and how to provide quality care for your patient while supporting your personal needs. Do you have time for that side gig, and what is required for time and mind management?
Interaction and connection
If this isn’t enough content, we will have segments of interaction among the attendees, an open panel discussion with several RDHs who have taken leaps of faith during COVID-19, and additional insights from Jackie Sanders, MBA, RDH, chief editor of RDH magazine, on the power of networking, how to get yourself published, and what is required to get to the podium.
The two days will conclude with your having a solid action plan to start you on your journey and a support group to assist with your professional growth.
The April event will be held virtually from the comfort of your own home, although all the events will be live and interactive. Nothing will be recorded, so there will be the element of active participation and sharing of thoughts, concerns, and ideas. The speakers we have selected are eager to share their experiences and are excited to assist each of you in building your own next chapter. What does it look like, and how do you get there? If you are stuck and have no idea what it looks or feels like, we have solutions for that as well. If you love clinical but have reached burnout, we will provide exciting recommendations and plans to bring the joy back to your patients and your team. If you just need more, we have two and a half days to see what more looks like.
RDH is embracing the growth of dental hygiene professionals as we know the power of learning from colleagues is most beneficial. When we learn from others, we have the ability to move forward faster by hearing about their mistakes and the advice they are eager to share.
What is your dream and desire? Where do you see yourself this time next year? Where does your heart want to be in three years and in five? Embrace the opportunity. RDH Evolution is your next step.
