As a student: She graduated with honors in June 2000 from Yakima Valley Community College in Yakima, Wash. A native of China, she moved to the United States as a young adult. She said, “I noticed right away that so many people here had confident smiles with beautiful teeth. I wanted to know how the dental offices helped people get their smiles perfect. I started this learning journey as a volunteer in a dental office. Five years as a dental assistant led me to the realization that I love this field and I wanted to learn more. I then went to dental hygiene school. Today I am a dental hygienist with 13 years of experience.”

On a daily basis: She works in the dental practice of Drs. John Hoag and Michelle Dotsch in Shoreline. “I have not been here very long, but I enjoy meeting patients and learning from the doctors and our fabulous consultant, Janice Hurley-Trailor. This is truly a lifelong learning career, and I am working hard to make a difference in our hygiene department.”

About me: Her signficant others are her husband, Kelvin, and her sons, Daylan, 16, and Aidan, 9. In her spare time, Ming enjoys ballroom dancing, zumba, and yoga.
