Jamie Dooley has been working on a project for the last two years that she’s very proud of. It will give her peers the qualifications and confidence to share their extensive knowledge in oral-systemic health. The Oral Systemic Educator Certificate Program is the first ANSI-accredited certificate in dentistry in the world.
Jamie shares the vision she’s had since hygiene school of dental hygienists working in health-care settings and educating medical professionals who are not in dentistry about the oral-systemic link. She points out that dental hygienists are the most educated medical professionals in the oral-systemic link, but they often lack the confidence or education to share that extensive knowledge with their patients and other health-care professionals.
By blazing the trail and working on the Oral Systemic Educator Certificate Program ANSI accreditation, Jamie helped open doors for her peers to go the next level in their careers and become certified educators.
Hear what Jamie went through to gain the program the ANSI accreditation. Learn if the Oral Systemic Educator Certificate Program is something you might be interested in, and how it can elevate your career to the next level.
Jamie and I then discuss the program she created for this year's National Dental Hygiene Month designed to nourish clinical hygienists’ hearts and souls. Learn more about her efforts here.
