Trish DeDios, RDH

As a student: I began as a dental assistant when I was 15. My mom has been a certified dental assistant for almost 25 years. Her enthusiasm for dentistry definitely led me to hygiene. I graduated from William Rainey Harper College in 2008 as president of my class.
The day job: I work with an incredibly compassionate dental team. The women I work with are so professional and knowledgeable about how to run an office that focuses on the patient's best interests. I am proud to say that I work for a very accomplished dentist, Dr. Salvatore Storniolo. Dr. Sal allows me to be progressive and innovative, and he truly values the important role of a hygienist for his patients.Since graduating, I have completely immersed myself into this dynamic career, gaining experiences from part-time teaching, dental mission work, focus groups, advisory boards, leadership conferences, and dental conventions. I am inspired by the amazing hygienists who go above and beyond for what they are passionate about. I am thankful for the mentors who continue to guide me through my career.
About me: I brought my dogs, Kirby and Stewie, to the photo shoot, but they were a bit camera shy! The photograph was taken in front of Harper's Avante Center for science and health careers. Avante is derived from a Latin word meaning "moving forward"
